Hope and second chances for a shelter kitty named Wynn

Wynn, a one-year-old female kitty first came to us last December 2023 with severe hydrocephalus all the way from Black Cat Rescue in Boston, MA. Hydrocephalus is a condition where cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord, builds up abnormally within the skull. This excess fluid can put pressure on the brain, leading to neurological problems. In Wynn’s case, she had difficulty with her balance and walking.
From Black Cat Rescue:
“Super Hero’s Animal Hydrocephalus Society (SHAHS), who we contacted for advice because Wynn was our first cat with hydrocephalus, spoke very highly of Dr. Jason Berg at Guardian Veterinary Specialists. We wanted to explore all options for Wynn, so we scheduled an appointment. That decision changed everything! Wynn underwent neurosurgery with Guardian in January. She was a model patient and happy to say at the time of her adoption her balance has improved significantly. Thankfully, Wynn is a great traveler and handled the long car rides like a champ. With multiple trips from Boston for treatment and dose of medications, her strength paid off. Now, she’s found a forever home where she is being showered with love! “
Black Cat Rescue’s Mission:
” Wynn’s journey perfectly embodies BCR’s mission. We champion overlooked cats like her, offering them a second chance through the No Kill philosophy. This spirited kitten deserves a lifetime of love and happiness, and her story inspires us. to fight for countless others. From cats needing medical attention to seniors and black cats burdened by superstitions, all these felines have immense love to offer. At BCR, we’re dedicated to finding forever homes for each and every one. “
