Allison Sarno, DVM, received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Ross University on the island of St. Kitts in 1987. She also completed clinical rotations in small and large animal medicine and surgery at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater as well as a pathology internship at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. In 1988, she completed an externship in equine arthroscopic and soft-tissue surgery at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Since that time, she has been practicing emergency medicine.
In 1994, Dr. Sarno traveled to Zimbabwe, Africa, to conduct elephant and rhino research and remains active in wildlife medicine and rehabilitation in the U.S.
She has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New York State Veterinary Medical Association since 1987.
