Letter To Pet Parents

Dear Pet Parent:

You have choices when it comes to where to seek cancer treatment for your pet. We hope that, after reading this, you’ll agree that Guardian Veterinary Specialists is the preferred choice. Everything we do is about helping pets. Cancer care is no exception. And our first and foremost consideration is maintaining your pet’s quality of life during cancer treatment.

There is never one “right” course of action in treating cancer, but there will always be a right course for your pet. Together, we’ll agree on what that course is as we weigh the risks and benefits, costs, and advantages and disadvantages of each option.

While we have more treatment options than any other center in this region, including novel approaches offered through potentially groundbreaking clinical trials, we will always recommend what is best for your pet—even if that option is offered elsewhere. We’ll also provide a detailed treatment plan that spells out the cost before treatment begins.

And we will always be honest with you. If we don’t believe a treatment plan offers a chance for improved survival or even cure while maintaining your pet’s quality of life, we will not recommend it.

We’ll also communicate with your referring veterinarian after each treatment to keep him or her apprised of your pet’s progress.

We would be honored to care for your pet through its cancer journey. Know that we treat each pet as if they were our own, and each pet parent the way we’d want to be treated—with compassion, respect, and candor.

Sincerely yours,
