Milo was a very sad case when he was pulled from a high-kill shelter in New York City by Town & Country K9 Resq LTD. This compassionate non-profit animal rescue group immediately recognized that Milo had potential to be a wonderful pet and deserved a chance at the good life.
He came along with his best friend, Bernie, as the rescue group couldn’t bear to separate the closely bonded buddies.
We’re pleased to say that Milo was brought to our advanced Neurology Service where he underwent specialized surgery for a herniated disc in his back that made him unable to walk. The surgery was very successful! After a long and careful recuperation provided by his foster home, several follow up visits at our hospital, and intervention by a professional dog trainer, Milo was fully recovered.
Many good people were involved in Milo’s transformation. Shortly thereafter came the great news that an excellent home was found for him together with his good buddy Bernie.
Milo’s “before” photo, when he first came to our hospital shortly after his rescue, is above. To the right is his “after” photo.
What a difference a rescue makes!
