Dr. Joseph Impellizeri – Board Certified in Veterinary Oncology
Joseph Impellizeri, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), MRCVS, graduated from Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Colorado State University before returning to the East Coast to work for several years in small animal emergency/primary care veterinary medicine.
He went on to complete a residency in medical oncology, earning board certification in 2005. In 2011, he created the Barrymore Center for Advanced Cancer Therapeutics with a focus on cancer immunotherapy, electrochemotherapy and electro-gene transfer. He lectures worldwide on these cutting-edge topics, holds a visiting scholar position at Vassar College, and remains involved in oncology research and clinical trials to better the lives of his patients and advance our knowledge of fighting cancer in animals.
