Jason Berg, DVM, DACVIM (Internal Medicine, Neurology)
Dr. Jason Berg is the Founder and President of Guardian Veterinary Specialists. A highly respected board-certified veterinary internist and neurologist, Dr. Berg has devoted his career to practicing veterinary medicine with a difference. Through the years, hundreds of pet owners and their pets have benefitted from his compassionate and sensitive approach. He has a strong commitment to providing specialized medical and surgical services with professionalism and integrity. Throughout a noted career spanning more than 20 years, Dr. Berg has been dedicated to advancing the field of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Berg received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. In 1996, he went on to complete his internship, followed by residency training in veterinary neurology and internal medicine in 2000 at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. He received board certification in neurology in 2000 and in internal medicine in 2002.
An experienced business founder and owner, Dr. Berg previously launched Animal MR, Animal Specialty Center, Bloodhound Laboratories. In 2017 he founded Guardian Veterinary Specialists, a 29,000 square-foot advanced, state-of-the-art emergency, critical care and specialty hospital in Brewster, NY.
Dr. Berg has held multiple positions with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and is President of the Westchester Rockland Veterinary Medical Association. A sought-after lecturer and instructor nationally and internationally, he’s is a published author with articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Veterinary Medical Association and Veterinary Internal Medicine, and American Animal Hospital Association, among others.
He has received numerous awards for many years of dedicated work with the animal shelter and rescue communities and is currently on the Advisory Board for the Westchester SPCA.
Bernadette Vinci, MS
Bernadette Vinci knows how to get things done. She’s the vice president and chief operating officer of Guardian Veterinary Specialists and, during her career as a management professional, she’s acquired an impressive track record in the veterinary industry.
After receiving her undergraduate degree in business from Pace University in New York, and her master’s degree in management from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, she joined AT&T as global account manager. There she supervised a staff of 22 in implementing business solutions for Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies in the veterinary field.
With her entrepreneurial spirit, Vinci went on to found BRV and Associates, an insurance and financial services firm that provided benefit solutions to veterinary groups. She then joined Animal Specialty Center, a new emergency and specialty hospital in Yonkers, where she played a key role in its conception and development and served as administrator, overseeing daily operations and a staff of 100-plus. Before joining Guardian Veterinary Specialists, Vinci was director of operations at Newtown Veterinary Specialists in Connecticut.
A believer in giving back, she serves as an advocate to find a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), and as the New York state representative for the National Caregiver Society.
